The fellowship recognises the prominent role that a member of the society has had and continue to have over the past 5 years

Overview

The fellowship recognises the prominent role that a member of the society has had and continue to have over the past 5 years, at the time of award, in the microscopy community in Australia, whether in research or society life. Election will be conducted every two years and new fellows will be announced at the ACMM conference.

Eligibility

  • Nominees must be members of the society.

  • Nominees must carry out their occupation in major part in Australia.

Award Criteria

  • Scientific and/or society achievements.

  • National and/or international recognition.

  • Leadership and/or promotion of the society and its activity.

  • Nominees must be nominated by current fellows and elected at a special fellowship meeting organised by the award committee. In the first year of existence the fellows will be nominated and elected by the award committee.

Documents to include in the application

  • Names of two nominators.

  • A statement of the reason for which the nomination was made.

​

Obligation of the Fellows

  • Uphold the values of the society. Fellowship can be removed if the Fellow breaches any of the values/rules of AMMS.
