This World Wide Web (WWW) Site has been put together as a result of discussions that took place at the first Australasian Scanning Probe Microscopy Conference meeting held at Newcastle NSW during July 1996. It was agreed that as a precursor to an Australasian SPM Society a web page would be set up with:
It is now under the control of myself Gordon Thorogood, now that we are kindly being hosted by Dr Nestor Zaluzec we can run the page at a very minimum cost and upgrade it daily if need be. This means that the page will now better serve the purpose it was originally intended for. All of the resources are still here and things will be updated as you give me the new information.
In addition, we will be building a collection of web resources that are useful to our members. This will include links to information sources, commercial sources, and material sources world wide. So if you do have some relevant web URLs, please submit them in the comments field of our web form - add your name and email address so we can thank you.
In the future we hope the site will hold an electronic copy of our newsletter, providing 24 hour access to our information on the SPM community in Australia especially research, relevant events and product releases. We anticipate there will be the publication index of letters and papers that members may wish to make available over the web.
If you are a practitioner of SPM in Australasia and are not on the SPM Directory please register yourself so that whenever something happens we can get in touch with you.
